Having had an horrendous experience with a previous vet and a specialist they recommended with my dog, I was extremely nervous about having to book my bird in for some tests. Anton vets is the only place near to me - still an hour away - with specialist avian vets so my options were limited. I am so glad they are, although I do wish they were closer. Not so good if I had an emergency - fingers crossed that never happens. From my first enquiry phone call, to a conversation I had with Maya before my visit, to the visit itself, they have been exceptional. The reception area is light, airy and comfortable. Obviously as you would expect from a vets it was spotlessly clean. I had been sat waiting less than two minutes when Maya came and called me through. She is lovely. I explained to her how I was nervous due to my previous issues and instead of telling me not to be silly, or trying to rush me through she sat chatting to me about the procedure. My bird had to have anaesthetic; the risks involved were explained to me fully, and honestly - something I truly appreciate - and she left me alone for a while to read through the paperwork, whilst deciding whether to go ahead with the procedure, or not. Had I said no there would have been no judgement, I would have been wished well and left to get on with my day. She handled my bird really well, chatted to him in the same way I do and assured me she would keep him under only as long as necessary. Waiting was probably the worst twenty-five minutes I've had to go through in a few years, not one I want to go through again, but she bought my monster back out to me as good as new. She did tell my by the time we got home we'd not notice any issues with him and she was right. From the second I let him out his travel bag he was back to his usual devilish self. Less than an hour after returning home, she emailed me through a detailed description on how to transition my bird to a different feed, something we had discussed, explaining the issues I might have to deal with as I do so. They have restored my faith in vets. Exceptional service and care; I highly recommend.

Wonderful vets staff are really friendly and its easy to make an appointment. So thankful to all the staff who treated my little Budgie Cookie back to health after an infection, he was seen same day as me phoning up, and is now back to his usual self. So happy to have found a vet that will see and treat Budgies. And will most definetly be returning for all my budgie(s) health care needs as and when required.
