Village Veterinary Centre is a small-practice vet that, based on client reports, handles both dogs and cats and supports ongoing medical conditions as well as acute problems. Reviews repeatedly mention unrushed appointments where vets explain findings and give “options” rather than a single fixed plan. There is also a clear split in experiences with one vet: one reviewer describes Pat as rude and overly negative about a dog’s health, while other owners specifically praise Pat’s compassion and thoroughness.

I have decided to stop using this veterinary practice after two very disappointing experiences. My dog was brought here only because it was local to my mum, who was looking after him at the time. On both visits, Pat came across as unfriendly, giving the impression that he didn’t particularly like animals. His manner bordered on rude, and the way he spoke about my dog’s health was unnecessarily negative, making it sound as though my dog was in a much worse condition than he actually was. For peace of mind, I sought second opinions from two other vets — my regular practice in Hove (5*) and another highly rated vet in Chilworth (5*). Both confirmed that the concerns raised here were exaggerated and not issues at all. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this vet. If you want a professional, friendly, and reassuring service where your pet is treated with genuine care, I would strongly advise going elsewhere

So amazing that the dog didn't want to leave. Lovely staff made the whole process as easy as it can be

Patrick is kind, caring and compassionate to our dogs needs. Appointments don’t feel rushed and he is always available for any questions. Receptionists are always lovely and welcoming too

I can't recommend Village Vets enough. We've been registered with them for years and have had nothing but the very best experiences. Both Pat and Tom have a wonderful way with both my cat and dog and I always feel they are in the very best hands. They always take the time to explain everything and give you all the options available. They were especially kind to me when my cat was attacked by a dog and really made an awful experience a lot easier to deal with. My cat has both chronic kidney disease and hyperthyroidism and Pat has been excellent throughout, providing us with guidance on treatment and helping keep my cat's stress to a minimum. Would highly recommend.
