#1 Vet in Ryde, Hampshire
From the latest reviews available to us, owners most often mention: - Fast urgent care (one dog with a fish hook embedded in the mouth was seen with “no delays,” sedated and the hook removed straight away, despite not being registered). - Conservative decision-making when appropriate (a vet examined a dog expected to need surgery and resolved the problem without surgery). - Surgical care is referenced (a ferret castration that “went smoothly”).

One review raises a clear limitation/communication issue around reptile care, describing consultations where vets said they were not trained in reptiles, and an appointment booked expecting a particular vet but seeing someone else; the practice reportedly did not charge for the second consultation.

The staff are so friendly, I had to take my dog in, who isn't even registered with them, as she had a fish hook embedded in her mouth, no delays, sedation and removed straight away. Brilliant service, thank you all.

I am absolutely beyond dissatisfied with the service myself, my family and of course our beloved bearded dragon have received. It’s morally wrong that we have attended twice to consultations with veterinarians that have verbally admitted they do not have the training in reptiles to give advice or instructions for best possible treatment. The first consultation I was informed to bring our bearded dragon back Wednesday because the expert will be able to assess him, I called to book an appointment and ask to see Matt, the lady on the phone questioned when Matt would be available then said 5:30 ok, I assumed we would be seeing Matt as the lady on the phone said nothing otherwise. We arrived at 5:30 to an older lady who straight off the bat told us she was no expert. The vet agreed this was wrong and did not charge for the second consultation. I now have to wait a week to see an actual specialist, delaying our pets care and potentially jeopardising his life. Clearly this vet is more interested in money than helping sick animals. I am beyond upset with this vet and would never bring any pet through their doors again.

We have been clients at Island Vetcare for several years now, and have always received the best possible care and kindness from all the staff (especiallyJessica and Mariella). Today, we went in expecting our Cherry to have surgery (which we really didn't want to put her through) and met with Jean-Paul. He listened to our concerns, checked her over, and sorted the problem without surgery. He was friendly, kind, caring and extremely efficient! Thank you always

Just returned home from our ferret having a castration. Always impressed with the amazing service and wonderful care 💜 Thank you so much for taking such good care of Dandy, so pleased he's safe and the operation went smoothly. xx
